Wayne E. Ruhl, 97, passed away peacefully May 1, 2025. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with interment following at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wayne was born March 24, 1928, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada to Percy and Elsie Ruhl. He was raised in Anamosa and moved to Cedar Rapids at the age of 19. He worked in retail stores Craemer’s, Killian’s, and JC Pennys, his entire career, retiring after 50 years.
Wayne is survived by his son, Ed (Kris) Mittan; grandchildren, Maria (Mark) Myers and their daughter; Edward Mittan, Jr., Gerald (Amanda) Mittan and their three children, Christina Mittan and her four children, Ryan (Miranda) Hoy, Shawn (Marla) Hoy and their three children, Ryan (Sherry) Hale with their two children and one great grandchild, Dani (Dusty) Pratt and their four children and three great grandkids, Donna (Rick) Marchiori and two children; daughter-in-law, Deni (Steve) Wiemers; friends he called family; several cousins and special cousin, Mary Ann McChristy. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Hale.
