Phyliss Maxine (Bennett) Lange, 85, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 28, 2025, at 11:05 A.M. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 3, at St. Pius X Parish in Cedar Rapids, beginning at 10:30 A.M. with a luncheon and burial to follow.

Phyliss was born to May and James W. Bennett on November 5, 1939, in Hazel Green, WI. She graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1957, and later married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Lange on October 14, 1961. They were united in marriage for 50 years.

Phyliss was very involved with several organizations, volunteering many hours at her kid's schools, Mercy Hospital - Gift Shop and Coffee Corner, helping bake many pies for The Knights of Columbus fish fry’s over the years. She was a member of the St. Anne's Circle, volunteering at St. Pius X as a religious ed teacher, helping with festivals and a planner of the tea party events. She served as leader of funeral dinners. She loved baking and decorating cakes for many in the community from birthdays to weddings, including special birthday cakes for her grandchildren.  One of Phyliss’ greatest accomplishments was running and owning the St. Francis Religious Books and Gifts store for over twenty years, serving the community with religious materials and gifts. Phyliss was dedicated to her faith, family, and service through volunteering. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you".  This is how she modeled her life.

After 50 years in the home that she and her husband Bob built, she moved to the Meth-Wick Community, where she lived for eight years. A big thank you to staff at Meth-Wick who helped and cared for Phyliss during her illness with Parkinson's.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Pam) Lange of Center Point, Tracy (Mark) Hammons of Cedar Rapids, Tricia (Ken) Miller of Cedar Rapids, and Tim (Rhonda) Lange; Grandchildren, Parker Lange, Kelsey Hammons, Connor Hammons, Ciara Hammons, all of Cedar Rapids, Nicole Miller, Brooke Miller of Grimes, and
