Did not know your parents much. When I was a newmember at St. Andrew your mom talked to me. She made me feel at ease. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

As I read all of these beautiful condolences about Roberta, I would like to add that for 17 plus years Roberta and Wes, supported and served A Promise of Health as donors and volunteers. This small non-profit now serves the indigenous people of rural Oaxaca, in Mexico, with a doctor and medicine. Roberta and Wes traveled to rural Yucatan to see first-hand our work. What fun they both were! Roberta was always upbeat, funny, kind and so talented! May God rest your beautiful soul, Roberta. You were a gift to so many, to your family, Wes and people everywhere! Your picture on this condolence page says it all! True grace, charm and beauty! Always a twinkle in your eye!

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom & Dad. I was the Library Director in Ely when your Mom was the City Clerk. She was so much fun and we had many laughs & talks together. She had a lovely heart and was a devoted care giver to her sister, Jean. I feel like I knew her children & grandchildren because she always spoke of your lives. She always wanted to be the best Mom to you. She loved you all so very much. I would tease her because she could always start an interesting conversation with whoever came into the office. She was very knowledgeable about City business and how to solve problems. She was a lovely person inside and out. My sister and I still marvel at her quick wit as she knew what to say to make a point. I was very lucky and honored to have known her. God Bless u all!

Roberta was so special to me .. a dear kind soul .. who I shared countless good times and laughs with on the golf course. Her positive uplifting and cheery nature was such a blessing to be around.. and I was blessed to have her as a dear friend. Roberta, I will miss you ❤️

I cared for Roberta during the last month of her life. She was an amazing woman. I only wish I could have had the opportunity to have known her longer. Roberta was always so kind, witty, and positive. My sincere condolences to the family as they grieve losing both parents. They will both be missed.

Roberta was a wonderful person and good friend. She was Hiawatha City Clerk when I was a young lawyer working as assistant city attorney. She was so knowledgeable about laws in Iowa affecting cities. She was incredibly patient with me as I handled city matters she knew more about than I. She always enjoyed a good joke or tease. She was a joy to work with. So sorry to learn of her passing.

Sorry to hear of your wife's death. Be thankful you had MANY years together.

Roberta was my wife's assistant City Clerk for many years before my wife retired in 1986 Bert was a kind and thoughtful person and did a good job and her appointment at city clerk my prayers and thoughts for God's comfort and peace go out to her family

Bert would be pleased with this. She wanted there to be some funny, and I giggled when she said that sometimes God could/should have put his hand over her mouth. Bert—such a fun, funny, and sweet dear, welcoming, positive and loving for a lifetime.

Wes and Bert were our neighbors for many years in Hiawatha-she was always very kind and cheerful-thoughts and prayers to the family
