David S. Rickard, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday November 28, 2023. Services: 11:00 Friday December 1, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Pastoral Intern Alice Murray from St. Marks Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Dawn (Scott) Bradley of Mankato, Minnesota, Brett (Carla) Rickard of Lisbon, Iowa and Laura (Al) Frey of Robins, Iowa, his siblings, Thomas Rickard of Fargo, ND, sister Winnie of Oregon, sister-in law Millie Rickard of Fargo, ND. grandchildren; Derek Kirchert, Spenser Bradley, Courtney Pearson, Tylor Rickard, Cody Rickard, Logan Rickard and Reed Smith; great grandchildren; Mathew Kirchert, Chloe Kirchert, Deegan Pearson, Presley Pearson, Colson Rickard, Elle Rickard, Brexton Rickard, Atlas Rickard, Jack Rickard; great great grandchildren Maverick Kirchert & Baby Kirchert on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sandra P. Rickard.
David was born August 27, 1940, in Hope, North Dakota, the son of Elmer and Lottie (Wood) Rickard. He married Sandra P. Knutsen on December 17, 1960 in Caledonia, Minnesota. David was a tech engineer for Collins Radio from 1960 until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed computers, traveling, playing cards and dessert…not necessarily in that order. His Faith was always his priority.
