Leonard “Lenny” Park, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 4-7 pm at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. A public graveside service will be held 11:30 am, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Garden of the Cross, Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with the Pastor Dave Doyle officiating.

Survivors include his sisters, Elaine Park of Cedar Rapids, Pat Coutentos of Cedar Rapids; nephews and niece, Gary Coutentos, Linda (Ramon) Ziadeh, both of Cedar Rapids, Mike Coutentos of Belle Plaine; many cousins; and best friends, Kevin Kinney and Bruce Croy, both of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many more friends.

Lenny was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Jimmie Coutentos.

Leonard Arthur Park was born May 3, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Opal (VanAntwerp) Park. After graduating from high school and attending college, Lenny worked for the Sheraton Hotel for 12 years and then when Collins Plaza/Marriott Hotel opened, he then worked for them until he retired at the age of 65. He had many hobbies, including camping, attending the annual Indianapolis 500 and Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals, attending the annual JazzFest in New Orleans, and enjoyed designing and building electric guitars. Music was his true passion, as Lenny played rhythm and bass guitar in several local bands over the years. Lenny was also an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bears.

Lenny’s family would like to especially thank the Mercy Medical Center Emergency room doctors and staff, Mercy intensive care Dr. John Wilson and nursing staff, especially Noel Baker and Marty Buks, Cedar Rapids Fire Department and Area Ambulance for the excellent care given to Lenny and his family.
