Memorial
Melissa J. Blair, Age 39, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Melissa was born on June 3, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was the daughter of Ronald and Josephine (Goodwin) Kositzky. On January 11, 2011, Melissa married the love of her life, Stephen Blair, in Grand Cayman.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, Stephen Blair, of Cedar Rapid IA; her children, Chris and Emma, her parents, Ron and Jody Kositzky, brothers, Kenny Kositzky(Jenna), Scott Kositzky, in-laws Ken and Fran Blair, Walt and Kenda Garrett, and a nephew and six nieces.
Preceding her in death was sister in-law Jennifer Kositzky.
Melissa grew up in Cedar Rapids, attended Kennedy High School and graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in early education. After the birth of her children, she started working for Iowa State Extension and outreach as an educator teaching food nutrition. Melissa’s interests included crafting, video games, shopping, camping, hiking and taking vacations with her family.
