Lorri was born on February 7, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Richard and Bonnie (Beebe) Carson. She attended East Buchanan Community School and graduated with the Class of 1965. She later attended the Paris Beauty Academy, where she earned her cosmetology license.
Lorri owned and operated Lorri's Beauty Salon and was especially proud to have maintained her cosmetology license for 60 years. Throughout her career, she had the joy of giving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson their first haircuts—a tradition that brought her great pride and happiness. She also worked at Metro Studios, where she served in the Metro Mom position.
On November 4, 1967, Lorri married Duane Butterfield, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including tending her flowerbeds and garden, baking, cooking, volunteering, and playing nightly games of Scrabble with Duane.
Above all, Lorri cherished her family and rarely missed an opportunity to attend her grandchildren's activities and celebrate their accomplishments. She and Duane shared a love of travel and were fortunate to visit 47 states, as well as Canada and Mexico.
Lorri attended Living Hope Wesleyan Church. She was also a food judge at the Iowa State Fair and served as a tour guide at Cedar Rock State Park, generously sharing her time and enthusiasm with others.
Lorri is survived by her husband of 58 years, Duane Butterfield of Hiawatha, Iowa; two daughters, Hillary Stacey and Heather (Leon) Hospodarsky, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren, Curtis (Shayla) Stacey, Kayla Hospodarsky, Taylor Hospodarsky, Lindsey Hospodarsky, and Brady Hospodarsky; one great-grandson, Cain Stacey; and a brother, Terry Carson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bonnie Carson, and her sister, Barbara Maruska.
