Linda Kay Winston, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died at 4:07 a.m. July 23, 2026. She was born April 13, 1951 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Booker T. and Pearl Spencer Winston. She was a 1968 graduate of Ottumwa High School. Linda was an active participant in 4-H in her youth and later served as a 4-H delegate. Linda earned a B.A. in Psychology from Morningside College and a M.A. in Social Work from Cornell University.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Pearl Atkins (Cedar Rapids); 3 grandchildren, Savannah, Rosalind and Ramarion; former partner, Stephen Atkins; 2 sisters, Markay Winston (Bloomington, IN) and Melanie Campbell (Ottumwa, IA); and 3 brothers, Lester Brown (San Antonio, TX), Richard Hayman (Peoria, IL) and Charles Winston.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sylvia Bland; and a brother, Timothy Winston.
Visitation with her family will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Celebration of Life services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
