Memorial
Marvin Albert Mosher, 92, of Shellsburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his home. The visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Private inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marvin was born on December 30, 1932, to Albert and Alice (Jarret) Mosher in Aurora, Iowa. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Marvin was united in marriage to Edna Smith on June 16, 1956, in Dubuque, Iowa. He was employed at Wilson & Co. and Farmstead Foods.
Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family. He found great joy in fishing and appreciated the simple pleasure of smoking his catch. Gardening was another passion of his, as he eagerly started his seeds each year, nurturing them with care. Cooking brought him happiness too, and he cherished the moments spent hosting holiday gatherings where family could come together. He also loved the adventure of camping, especially when family could join. He often adventured to Independence, where he grew up, stopping at Dairy Queen, a little treat that added to the enjoyment of his trips.
He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his children, David (partner, Faith) Mosher of Cedar Rapids; Terry (Melissa) Mosher of Vinton; and Cyndy (Steve) Logue of Cedar Rapids; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Edna; son, Marvin Mosher, Jr. and daughter, Carol Tuttle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for donation at a later time.
