Dale and Barb were neighbors of ours for many years , they were a joy to have in the neighborhood on the SE side and Kirk and Cort offer their condolences to the passing of Dale here. A sad thing as most of our neighbors and family now gone. Dale was always there with smile.

The good Scout has gone to be with his Heavenly Father and loving wife, Barb. Now we rejoice and remember the many times he shared his life with so many of us - it's difficult to remember them all. First, he was an excellent BSA Council President. His leadership skills were evident in all undertakings. He lived by the Scout Oath and Law and was always willing to help others. And he knew how to entertain...I'll always remember the wonderful parties held in the basement of 123 25th St Dr and the crazy antics he and Barb would come up with. It was THE place to be for fun and relaxation - and maybe a little politics included. Half the CR City Council was always there for a good time. Memories - memories - about the Scouting Jamboree, summer camps, fundraising, recruiting people to serve Scouting, and being a loyal confidant. I loved being around Dale, he brought out the "good" in a person. One final note: Dale always reminded me that correspondence should be addressed to- Dale "H" Sawyer. We may have lost a wonderful man, but his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. Blessings.........

Dale was one of the most influential persons in my life. He taught me so many things from being a Scout Master to just being Steve and Deb’s dad. I will always have such fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Steve, Dean and families, I was so very sorry to see the loss of Mr Sawyer. He was always a gentle giant in my eyes. May he rest in peace with Deb and Mrs Sawyer. Sue

Family of Dale, we share our prayers for healing and strength for all of you. Dale was a kind and happy man that always shared a smile with everyone. I enjoyed helping him while cleaning his home at Cottage Grove. Former housekeeper 2019, Tammy Coppernoll

Steve I am sorry to hear about your dad. I knew Dale for many years and worked at Iowa Electric with him and he spent many of those many years trying to keep me straightened out!! My thoughts and prayers go out to you. RIP Dale until we meet again!

We so enjoyed Billie and Dale when they joined First Lutheran. They especially enjoyed our Saturday Night Appetizers...and we certainly enjoyed Billie's Pickle Wraps! Dale continued to worship at First Lutheran as long as he could. He was a precious member of our church family.
