Gary: I’ve been out of town on business the last 3 weeks and returned to learn of Evelyn’s passing. I smile every time I think of the evening we all met at Outback Steakhouse and Evelyn gave instructions on how to properly attack and conquer a “bloomin onion”. What fun we had. She had a long and well lived life. We should all be so lucky. My sympathies to you and your family. Kevin & Sally

To Evie's family: my sympathies and prayers for the loss of an amazing person. My grandparents lived up the street (The Kvach's) and I have warm memories of my visits with Evie through all the years, the latest one being a couple years ago where we spent time on her front porch catching up (of course with the Schollmans). Still sharp-as-a-tack and youthful in spirit, she truly had a blessed life and I'm thankful to call her my friend. -Mark

Dear Gary and Toby, I was so sorry to hear about Evelyn's passing. I have such fond memories of her. It is clear that there are so many who care so deeply for her and about her. My love to you both. Lil

I am sorry to hear of Evie's passing yet I know she is wonderfully rejoicing in heaven with her Lord. I served with her several years on boards of Christian organizations such as YFC and Christian Women's Club. She was a faithful part of the His Women board for many years and we learned so much from her devotional talks at our board meetings. She always kept us focused on the main purpose of the organization and her passion and love for Jesus was continually on display. We will miss her greatly but can count on seeing her in glory in the future.

Sorry for your loss Toby Lacock remember your grandmother from school. Sincerely Joseph Pfiffner

Gary,Toby and family we are so sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing. She was such and sweet and up beat lady. Heaven has truly gained an awesome angel. We will keep you in our prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was a dear, dear person. I met Hildon and Evelyn in the late 70’s at church. She made my boys and I feel welcome from our first time there. She was a special person. My condolences to the family.

So sorry to learn of your loss...your Mom will be in my prayers.

Dear Gary, I was so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. She sounded like a very active, involved person in the Cedar Rapids Community. Please accept my condolences.

We knew Evelyn long ago but have never forgotten her warmth and caring spirit. She was a wonderful friend to us. Please know your family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve the loss of such a wonderful Christian example to all.

Gary, I am thinking of you and your family, and wish you comfort during this sad time. Wendi Scheer

May Evelyn’s life long message of Hope be the source of strength to her family and friends. Evelyn’s faith was clear in how she lived. She now knows the fullness of Joy, eternal rest with Jesus.
