Memorial
Deloris L. Luse, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday March 11, 2026, at the Woodlands in the Meth-Wick Community. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., on Saturday March 14, 2026, followed by burial at 9:00 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends at St. Andrew Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. by Pastor John Grebner.
Survivors’ include her son, Glen (Paula) Luse, 2 grandchildren, Kenny Luse and Allison Luse, and a sister, Joyce Shaffer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Luse, her sons, Kenneth Luse and Paul Luse, her siblings, Elizabeth Schmitt and LaVerne Jorgenson.
Deloris was born on March 22, 1926, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Amos and Minnie (Widish) Jorgenson. She became a registered nurse in 1947 and married Edward C. Luse in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for William Basler M.D. and raised her sons.
Deloris was a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where she was very active. She loved baking, sewing, and growing vegetables to have fresh out of the garden. In later years the daily calls from her granddaughter, and visits from her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her daily walks and talking with the residents at Meth-Wick.
