Memorial
A whole lot of kindness and love left the world when Bernadean Spilde, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother departed this world on June 25 to join her husband Orval in heaven.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Stateroom. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion. Burial will be immediately following the funeral at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bernadean was born on Friday, July 13, 1928, in Magnet, Nebraska , the daughter of Clarence and Goldie (Frerichs) Case. Bernadean married Orval Spilde on November 29, 1945, in a union that lasted until his death on January 12, 2019.
Bernadean was a Christian with a deep faith and loving ways. She was fully present with others and made all feel cherished and loved. Her definition of love was a lifetime of how she cared for others. She counted family and friends as her biggest blessings.
Left to cherish Bernadean’s memory are her children: Nadine (Jerry) Neal, Muriel (Bill) Logan, John Spilde, (Angel McGee), and Randy (Evelyn) Spilde; grandchildren, Melissa (Nick) Kincade, Nathan Neal, Dan (Cass) Logan, Kim (Brian) Salmon, Bethany Spilde, and Alan Spilde; great-grandchildren, Austin, Emily, and Lauren Kincade, Audrey and Emma Salmon. In addition, her brother Gary Case, sister-in-law Esther Spilde and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were dear to her.
Bernadean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orval, and brother Irwin “Bud” Case.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests giving to a charity of your choice. Bernadean would say “just show kindness to one another.” Bernadean’s words to any person who helped her were, “Thank you for your kindness.” She knew how to show gratitude.
