We have to say goodbye to our mom, Jacky Devine. She has gone to her eternal home. Jacqueline “Jacky” Devine passed away July 24, 2026, in Cedar Rapids. Visitation Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 9:00 am until 11:00 am Funeral Service at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will be held privately.
Jacky was born in Harlan, IA to Harvey and Mildred (Williams) Norgaard. She graduated with honors from Onawa High School in 1954, then attended and graduated with a Pharmacy Degree from the University of Iowa. She was a pharmacist for 50 years, started working at Sorg’s Pharmacy in Marion, part- time for several years, so she could be off with her daughters in the summer.
She owned and operated Corner Drug in Solon for several years. Later she became a Pharmacy Examiner for the State of Iowa, retired after 20 years of service. Jacky loved her God, flowers, traveling, playing bridge, knitting, reading, sewing, and doing puzzles. She loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.
Left to honor her memory; two daughters, Debby McKim and Dorothy (Bob) Sulzer; grandchildren, Matt (Veronica) McKim, Jeremy McKim, Brad (Meghan) McKim, Scott (Venecia) Sulzer, Brian (Megan) Sass; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Jacky is preceded in death by her parents; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many cherished friends.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Hope United Church of Christ in Hiawatha.
