Mrs. Marian was truly the grandmother I never had. When I came to this country alone for college, she welcomed me with kindness, faith, and unconditional love. I remember Marian and Ralph Arens when she was a realtor who sold our first house in Cedar Rapids. We really enjoyed going to her pumpkin patch at her real estate office. She and Ralph would dress up in funny costumes.
