Victor M. Shaffer, 83, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on October 15. Born in Arlington, Iowa, into a large family, Vic was a hard and dedicated worker throughout his career in manufacturing and shipping/receiving. He was a lifelong Hawkeye fan who loved all sports, working on cars, making new friends, and sharing a good laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan; his two daughters, Angie (Tom) Light and Staci (Cory) Conrad; five grandchildren, Dakota Conrad, Kady (Dan) Wheeler, Sydney (Zach) Jeffcote, Ryan (Courtney) Light, and Karly Light; and one great-grandchild, Lunden Wheeler.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Lisbon Rehabilitation Center and St. Luke’s Hospice for their care. Vic was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
The family will be holding a private service.
