Claudia was one classy lady with an infectious smile. She made all who knew her feel welcome. Lovely inside and out. To her loving family, the world was a better place because of her. Our prayers are with you all.

My deepest condolences to your family. I will keep you all in my prayers. I had the pleasure of working with Claudia at AEGON for many years. Her positivity and loving nature made an enormous impact on me. I was just thinking of her the other day, as I was driving through a neighborhood close to her home. She will be greatly missed.

Above all, my condolences to the family of Claudia, to her siblings and children and grandchildren. Claudia and I first met when we both were in high school in spring, 1966, she was a sophomore at Regis, I was a junior at LaSalle. She was staying weeknights at her grandmother's on 21st Avenue SW in CR. I was on an outing with a mutual friend Donna, who said "hey, let's go visit Claudia!" I didn't yet know who Claudia was, but a knock at her bedroom window revealed this beautiful, great spirit of a person. Van Morrison's song "Brown Eyed Girl" summed it up. She came on like a lightning bolt. We spent time together over the next two years, parting ways during her freshman year at Creighton and in my sophomore year at the University of Iowa. Our last "date" was to see the newly released movie "2001: A Space Odyssey." But we never lost sight of each other. When she returned to Cedar Rapids after years of living in Omaha we reconnected (thanks to her sister Jane). On occasions Claudia and I would share lunch at her workplace, to just stay in touch. During that time I had the joy of meeting her young children Angie, Jarrod and Katie on occasion. In 1994 I had the honor of photographing her wedding to Don, a testimony to our good history. Bottom line is this: Claudia was an indomitable great spirit, as well as simply being a person who loved and who was loved. And I hold it as an honor that she is always held in beautiful light as a special person to me, one with whom our lives intertwined in well-remembered ways.

Claudia was always a ray of sunshine whenever I would run into her while working at LI/AEGON/Transamerica. Her positive spirit and bright smile is forever etched into my memories.

So sad to see this. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Claudia at Life Investors/Aegon/Transamerica for probably all of those 30 plus years. She always had a smile, a positive attitude and a great sense of style and humor. Just an all around great person. Hugs to the family. 🫂🙏
