To Robert, Carol Richard, the Passman & Charlson families, We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to your family, her many friends and to her wonderful staff at Cottage Grove Place. It was a blessing to see Lani the Sunday afternoon while she was in hospice, the week of her passing. Her smile that day was beautiful as we updated her on our daughters Julie, who worked at Cottage Grove for nearly 4 years while in high school at Washington/early college days seeing Lani often; and Eileen. Our oldest daughter Cheryl was with Carole and I for that last visit. A couple of years ago in the spring, Lani truly made my day with a phone call to me out of the blue to wish me well. She knew me nearly as long as my own mother. So many joys either at the house on Fox Meadow or the Condo at the Lake or seeing her at St. Paul's back in the day. And, she was helpful to talk to during many sorrows too. As I grieved for the loss of my parents, Tommy then LaVerne, in 2014 and 2020, the sudden passing of my siblings, Marcia then Terry in 2021 and 2024. Harry did pass away to soon, and like Lani, I learned to ski behind Harry pulling me on that first boat. We were truly blessed to know Lani and enjoyed her conversations over the years, the occasional meal at Cottage Grove back when Julie worked there, and a lifetime of memories and stories about Kum Double, times at the Condo or our family get togethers at Fox Meadow. As I golf, I remember the old Town House Golf Course, one I know our parents used to golf together back in the day. It was the first course I ever played. So, many thoughts thinking back at your wonderful parents. Peace be with each of you, as we cherish her legacy and love she supplied over the course of her wonderful life we were blessed to know her.
