To all the Chadima family If Austin had not met Mary Halpin playing golf in Naples, I would’ve never known that Judy had passed For a number of years, I drove for Riders Club and I often picked up Judy to take her to the pool and swim. We had great talks about swimming, of course since we both loved the sport. It was a pleasure coaching Brooke at the Y Kathy and I are returning to Cedar Rapids next week to go to a funeral of another good friend, I told Kathy I wonder if Judy is still swimming. I was about ready to call Nick Gearhart to find out if she was still swimming and with sadden to find out that she had passed. What a wonderful life Love Robbie Cook ( that’s what she always called me) Robbie Cook (that’s what she always call me

I very much enjoyed getting to know Judy and listening to her wisdom and humor. I am so sorry to hear she has passed.

Chris and family! So many memories from grade school and high school. Your mom was one of a kind..always a smile. I'm sorry I missed this notice.. Thinking of all of you with love One of my oncology patients told me that a" sunset on earth is a sunrise in heaven" The is surely shining! With caring thoughts, Mary (Spaight Fitzgerald

Chris, I remember your Mom as a very beautiful, gracious woman. My condolences to you and your family. Phyllis

I can still hear Bill answering his phone, "Judy, Judy, Judy..." whenever she would call him while he was working so hard at the computer playing Solitaire! Judy would stop by Hawkeye Fire & made sure to always search me out to stop & say "Hi" and let me know she was on her way to do something that kept her busy. And then as quickly as she stopped by, she was heading out the door stating "Oh Fiddlesticks, I need to get going." Oh Judy, you were such a fun treat! Thinking of you, Bill and JoAnn, also. Di Neal

John & family: My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear mother. You were blessed to have her for so long and you were a very dedicated son to her. May she rest in eternal peace. 💐🙏 Deb Abbott

Grateful to have known and over the years interacted with amazing Judy. Her bright spirit and delightful conversations always entertained me. She had a great zest for life and all the possibilities and never shy about sharing them. Know she was proud of her family and she will be missed though guessing her sage advice and comments will be repeated often. With sincere sympathy Pat Ron Gonder

God bless her sweet soul !! I enjoyed every single time in the salon at Methwick with her. Loved hearing about her swimming and banana bread bust mostly loved hearing about her family 💜.., May all your wonderful memories help you through the hard days !! Heaven gained a good one for sure 😇

I had the distinct pleasure and honor of interviewing Judy for a story in the DM Register in the early '90s. She was a remarkable swimmer and a delightful person. We were able to reminisce about Cedar Rapidians we knew in common. The world has lost a great lady.

To the Chadima family: Please accept my condolences on your loss. It is never easy losing someone you love. Hold on to those memories, continue to hear her voice and don’t ever stop talking to her. She is with you always. I hope that comfort and peace come to you. I know that she will truly be missed. Prayers for your hearts to heal. I had the pleasure of swimming with Judy and against Judy. She was super dedicated to this sport and set the bar high for others to reach. She was and is the ICON for swimming. You are in my prayers and thoughts. May God bless all of you. Jim Voss

Judy was quite a woman! Full of energy and life! She was also a very kind and caring woman. To her family please accept my deepest sympathy.

I have so many fond memories of this family as I babysat from 7th grade thru college. I walked from Franklin to their house on 30th street NE. We became great friends. I was required to save Hawkeye Football Saturdays. I love them all and am so sorry to learn of Judy's passing. She was a great mom. Blessings and peace to all of you. Elaine
