I am so sorry to hear that David passed away. I used to stay with David at his home to keep the Null boys away from him. His mother used to work at a small cafe near us and we went there for lunch. He was safe with me because one of the Null boys had a crush on me! lol I spent a lot of time with Mrs. Dyrland. She taught me to love reading and scrabble.

My deepest condolences go out to the Dyrland family. I've known David for so many years, & been very good friends with his beloved son Dan. The first time I met David was at our 1st Christmas concert at Roosevelt, & I sung a solo & Dan sung after me & afterwards David told me that he was so inspired by my voice & he loved it. He also knew my mother Harriet so he'd always give me words of encouragement of keep singing. He was even a sub for our music class a few times. He was such an amazing person, & was always there for anybody. He'll be deeply missed. Thank you David for always encouraging me to get more involved & never give up. Rest Easy. ✝️✝️

Thank you for sharing so much of Dave through the years. His beautiful voice, especially singing the National Anthem, and his infectious joy were a wonderful tradition at Jefferson. He was such a gift to the J Hawk family. May your heart be filled with precious memories. May God bless your family.

Dave was my escort for Homecoming at Jefferson High School. A kind gentle soul who I always enjoyed.
May God bless him and your family.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers 🙏. Regretfully I am in Florida and unable to attend the services.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of loss. I so enjoyed hearing David in all the school musicals at Jefferson. Also, my mother had a copy of his record album that she loved to listen to. May the Lord bless and comfort you.

My love to all of the Dyrlands... Dave played an integral role in my life, from being my youth pastor in Cedar Rapids to embracing and helping me launch a ministry in recent years. His passion for ministry, his vision for the church community, and his love for people has a lasting impact on me and countless others. I loved his rich, powerful voice in worship - and a David Dyrland special was always a highlight of many a church service, rally, camp meeting as I was growing up. I still have, to this day, a rather fun clay head (from my junior high days) that makes me think of Dave every time I see it, because I patterned the figure's open mouth after David's when he sang. :) Love this man, and his family! God bless and keep you, and make his face to shine upon you, and give you peace.

My heartfelt condolences to all of the Dyrland Family. Dave, above all, love his family more than anything & was so proud of all of you. He was also a great friend. The loss of his being here everyday is felt so greatly, because he was so present with the people he cared for. His voice, singing & whacky sense of humor will live on in memories as he now is in absolute peace & joy with our Savior. Keeping you all in my prayers every day as you go through this loss. Love you all. Debbie

our condolences to the Dyrland Family, we are sorry for your loss. Dave was a mainstay as our children grew up having involvement in the many things that makes all of us, proud as parents. Dave’s kind example to his family of how to be thoughtful and a good person, always having positive things to say and a contagious laugh. Dave was a good man and I’m sure as he goes on there is a spot in heaven for him. His sons will carry on from Dave and (Terry)‘s example of faith and family. May the Lord bless you all, at this very difficult time.
