I was not aware of Waynes passing but wanted to express my admiration for the Engle family. I was hired by Wayne to work for his sign company when I first moved to the area, he was a true leader and outworked everyone, He mentored many local business owners and did many unseen acts of kindness for the town of Marion and Cedar Rapids. He was of man of faith, my prayers to his family.

Dear Engle Family, Please accept my condolences on the passing of Wayne. I was out of state last week, so I was unable to attend the Celebration of Life. Wayne was one-of-a-kind! I will never forget him telling me about the first time he climbed a utility pole. He froze at the top, but he went back to class the next day determined to succeed and further pursue training in the field that became his life's work. He was passionate about so many things, but faith, family and community were paramount! I will forever remember him fondly, especially as an "Old Fart," helping rewire our post-flood community. Rest in peace, dear friend. Well done!

Engle family, I was very sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I began working at Van Meter 16 years ago at the counter in Cedar Rapids and Wayne often stopped in. He was always was so respectful and warm and I thoroughly enjoyed every experience I had with him. My sincere condolences on the loss of this wonderful soul.

Dear Engle Family, Please accept our sincere condolences in the loss of Wayne. Gilda and I have known him for 30 years and he was indeed a man who lived with a real passion for life. We deeply respected his commitment to his community and those less fortunate .. Wayne’s faith was without fanfare .. he lived it through action and enthusiasm. He knew loss and yet continued to live a full life never looking back. Rest in Peace. You will be missed

Sending condolences to the family of Wayne Engle. My husband deeply respected him. He worked with him on flood recovery wiring homes for free. Wayne was a man of high integrity, concerned about all people. He will be warmly welcomed by our Heavenly Father.

Ben and family ~ Sending you our deepest sympathies and prayers during this difficult time. May you and your entire family be surrounded by God's love and comfort. The Chien and Davis families

Wayne Engle was a magnificent human being! Despite family losses he remained upbeat and positive! His involvement in community causes was remarkable. His creation of the “Old Farts” electrical group epitomized his community involvement and also gave many retired folks a newfound purpose in retirement. I was privileged to have known him! Please accept my deepest sympathy. Dr. John Wollner

I am out of town. My deepest sympathy to you Janet and Dan. So glad he is with Jesus and his wife.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for this difficult time. Wayne was a wonderful man who made a great difference in many people's lives. I loved him for his friendship with Roger and all he did for him. He helped me through my grief of losing Roger and showered my with his love and the best fudge (he never could give me an exact recipe)! May God give you strength, comfort and peace in knowing he is now united with his Lord and Savior and his loving family that passed before him.

Wayne Engle was an extraordinary man serving his family and community to an exemplary degree, unstinting in giving his time, energy and talents to the betterment of the general Cedar Rapids area. Wayne Engle will be sorely missed.
