A sudden and mercifully short illness this morning forced me to cancel my scheduled flight from Cincinnati to Cedar Rapids for my long term colleague and friend’s service. I am sorry to miss the service and am sorry for his loss. He was a knowledgeable and trustworthy physician from whom I sought advice and with whom I entrusted my patients. Our birthdays were the same. We happily skied on Dick’s 80th birthday, thinking that was ancient. Little did we know. My life and many, many others were enriched by him. I am sorry for his loss. I am sorry my plans to directly express my condolences to family we’re thwarted.

I am so sorry that I was unable to attend the service for my favorite Uncle Dick. He was always a support to our family in time of joy and despair. He was Born two years before my Father, his brother Jack. I so wish we had spent more time together. He came to all our family weddings, and I really believed he and Jack became closer prior to my father's early departure in this life. What awesome parents we all had thanks to the fine upbringing that Leonard and Gertrude Quetsch provided. Much Love to all My Cousins and How I do hope any of you visit if ever in N. Virginia.

On behalf of the Naber family, we send our condolences. Dr Quetsch was a very good friend of my father “John” Naber; including playing poker together monthly. I also periodically saw him at Cottage Grove Place when visiting my mother, he was always kind and friendly.

Our sympathy on the loss of a great mentor and fabulous physician. My first memory of Dr. Quetsch was when I was a resident on night call at the hospitals. Periodically he would have to come in to see someone in the middle of the night. I distinctly remember regardless of the time of night, he would be there very professional, with suit and tie ---- yes at about 3 a.m. !! Then I can recall he was so tired after doing that, so at Grand Rounds he would put his head down on the table and take a little cat nap! Thank you for letting us get to know him. Don & Mary Anne Nelson

To the family of Dr. Quetsch, My husband Giora and I want to send you our deepest condolences about your Father. We met him when my Dad, Bert Katz, was living at Cottage Grove Place. Your Father was one of "the group" who ate together every evening. I was always there around that time, and got to know him and what a wonderful man he was. He talked about you and your brother (who he worried about because of his health issues). He must have been a wonderful physician given the kind of person he was. We send you our deepest sympathy and prayers. Toni and Giora Neta
