Sara was born July 26, 1994 in Cedar Rapids to Ron and Diane (Fredericks) Perske. She was an avid gamer. Sara had a love for animals and at the time of her death was the caretaker for her beloved emotional support cat, Fluffy, a newly rescued cat, Buster as well as three rats.  Her boyfriend, Justen was able to find new loving homes for her pets, which would have made her very happy. Sara loved to travel and take road trips whenever possible and experience the world along the way. She especially loved going to Colorado with her boyfriend. She also enjoyed visiting Adventureland and Lost Island. Sara had a special relationship with her father that they both cherished, some of her friends even saw her dad as a father figure as well. She and Ron even did Taekwondo together. She loved being in her backyard, hanging out with friends around the pool or watching movies under the stars. During her childhood, all the neighbor kids looked forward to attending Sara’s birthday parties, it was the highlight of the year and everyone always had a blast, even the adults, especially when her dad grilled. Though Sara faced many struggles in her life, she was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved people and would give the shirt off her back to help someone. Above all, Sara’s greatest accomplishment and joy in life was her five year old daughter, Aurora.

The family asks that any memorial donations be made in Sara’s honor to Area Substance Abuse Council. The family would also like to thank everyone who has reached out with photos and shared memories of Sara and those who have offered their assistance in this difficult time. The family also asks in this time that you remember and appreciate how precious life is.
