Mary was simply a marvelous person who was dearly loved by so many Washington High School students (including myself). Her warm smile and generous spirit was a gift to many. I remember how helpful she was to me on many occasions during my time in high school. She helped to make Wash a great place and was often the first point of contact at the school and a wonderful ambassador. She had a great impact on so many lives and was a very, very special person. I extend my condolences to her entire family. She will be missed.

Mary was the best!!! Such a lovely lady. So friendly, kind and always cheerful. I had the privilege of knowing her when I worked in the attendance office at Washington High School. She loved her job. She was just a beautiful person in every way. My deepest sympathy to all the family. You were blessed. Molly Scott

Dear Mike and all the Hook family, I just learned of your dear mother’s passing. She was a dear sweet kind woman. I have fond memories of her from our days at IC. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Mary Hook’s Children and their Families…….During the ten years I was at Washington High School Mary was always in the office smiling, assisting others, and was loved by all. I was saddened to learn of your loss of such a loved one. I send my sincere condolences, prayers, and love to all of you….Judy Carmichael

Our sincerest sympathies to Pat and Deb and your siblings on the loss of your mother. Mary was so kind and friendly. She was blessed with a great sense of humor. Washington High School was very blessed to have her for 30 years. Bill & Chris Huggins

I will always remember and respect "Mrs. Hook" because of her gracious demeanor and endless ability to juggle responsibilities so very well. My deepest sympathy to her family and all those close to her.

Mrs Hook was such a nice lady. She always wore a smile on her face and greeted me with thoughtful attention. She was a legend at WHS and I always thought no one would be able to replace her! Each year as I voted, I would be greeted again by Mary as she would give me updates on Deb and Brian’s family. Such a special lady! Peace to all~

I was privileged to know this wonderful lady for many years while I was a teacher and coach at Washington HS- she was one of the kindest and helpful women I have ever known. My sympathies to her family as they mourn the loss of this gem!

I had the privilege of working with Mary in the activities office at Washington High School. She was an awesome secretary and a tremendous asset to our programs. Anyone who came through our office doors were greeted with a warm smile and positive attitude. She was so proud of the children she and Bob raised! But, she was immensely proud of growing up on the farm near Hedrick and returning there every summer to tend the beautiful garden she created. She loved the Warriors and made significant contributions to the success of the programs. And she enjoyed "sparing" with the coaches when they played Regis. Such a beautiful person and friend.... my sincere condolences to the Hook family.

Mary worked as the Activities Secretary at Washington High School for 30 years, and I was Washington Principal for many of those years. I loved Mary Hook! I looked forward to stopping by her desk almost every morning for a few moments of conversation. She was a kind woman, intensely loyal to Wash, and always quick to go out of her way to be helpful to everyone. The Warriors lost a great friend in Mary’s passing! So did I!

My mother, Norma, worked with Mary for many years at Washington High School and considered her a friend. Mary was always so nice and kind. Sending prayers to her family.

Knew this sweet and helpful lady from her years at Washington high school. No matter what was needed she could help. From messages to tickets for an event and anything else Mary got it accomplished always with her kind and humorous personality. Grateful to have known her. Sincere sympathy to all her family.
