I cherish the times we had the opportunity to visit with you and Gene and as kids the times we got to play with Gary and Nancy. Gene's gracious, gentle love, which I am sure he got from our Lord Jesus, the Christ, made me feel at home with all of you. I am confident that the strength of our Lord will help you to endure, but Renay and I pray that your whole family grieve well and recover and continue to show the love of God, as lights in the darkness, bringing reconciliation to God to others. My thoughts and prayers are with Val and her family. Gene was a great conservationist and leader working with farmers and urban leaders! As area conservationist, I selected Gene for District Conservationist of Linn County Soil Conservation District because of his effective leadership. Family can take pride in his accomplishments and as a great husband and father.

Uncle Gene was an inspiration to the ag community and a great family man.
While we are so very sorry for his loss, I truly believe he is now pain free and in heaven with his Wolter brothers!
We will be planting a tree out here on the Wolter farm in honor of Gene.
