Teri, So very sorry to hear you lost your mom. May the good memories be a comfort to you. Sincerely, Ann (Manson) Arbuckle ~ Jefferson '80

To Barb's Family We were neighbors for years n friends even before that. Barb was very committed to her family n friends. She was an excellent educator who worked unselfishly at helping her students learn. I hope peace n comfort come soon. You are in my thoughts n prayers. May God bless all of you. Jim Voss

What a nice lady Barb was. She was a blessing to this world. She taught several of our children at Madison. We also were all part of the speed skating group at Manhattan Rink when the kids were young. Blessings to you all. Jim and Percy Caviness

Dear Family, I was the flower girl at Barb and Doug's wedding in 1956. My mom, Marjorie Duffus Dean, was a first cousin of Barb's. They were married at First Methodist Church in Marshalltown. I remember a woman making my blue taffeta dress and getting new shoes for her wedding. I thought First Methodist was the grandest, most beautiful church ever. I told my parents that someday I would get married there! And I did! In 1972 to Don Mitchem, son of Howard Mitchem, who owned an insurance business on the other side of Main Street from Allbee Office Supply. Anyway, I didn't step on Barb's train during the processional, sprinkled flower petals gently, and was thrilled to be a flower girl, the only time I was ever asked to be one.

I am so sorry I missed Barb's passing. In the midst of the storm, I had no information coming in. She taught my son at Madison and we had rooms across from each other when I was the SLP at Madison and was my neighbor for a while out at lakeview. Fun, energetic, lady. My thoughts are with you in our loss.

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know Barb through CGP first caring for her as a CNA, and eventually an LPN. She was such a joy to be around and always was laughing or smiling about something! She always brightened our days. Praying for the Minard family during this time.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Barb at Cottage Grove. She was always fun to talk to each week when I visited my mom. She liked to talk about her family and teaching. I could tell she deeply loved both!

Sorry to hear. So many great memories with her growing up! Hope all of you are doing ok during this hard time.

Teri, So sorry to read about your mother’s passing.
