Kevin and family- my deep sympathy at the death of Shirley. I loved visiting her in her home. Her content spirit and kind words were always encouraging. She loved attending services at Bethany Lutheran Church and I know she missed not going the past couple years as she was always cautious about going out. May knowing that Shirley now rests with Christ bring you peace. She will be dearly missed here on earth.

I met Shirley over 20 years ago while I was teaching a CPR class at Garfield. For a while there I came back each year, it was like a mini-reunion seeing everyone each year. So how would I remember Shirley? Those that knew her know why. And for her kids, they can be a little extra proud of having a Mom like that. Someone who stands out in a positive way. Someone who only knew and saw her a few times decades ago, still remembers her. That says something, and probably better than I could say it here.

My mom Donna was a teacher at Garfield and was a good friend of Shirley's. I've known Shirley most of my life and she was one of the sweetest persons. She was caring and compassionate. When I graduated from college and looking for a job she got me in touch with her neighbor. If it wasn't for Shirley, I would not have the job that I have now. We missed you when you weren't able to attend book club but glad you are not in pain anymore. God bless you and your family.

We were so sorry to hear of Shirley passing. My husband and I enjoyed always talking to her at Vision’s every Saturday morning. Our prayers are with the family.

Shirley was my Aunt, she was my Mother's sister, much younger than Mom. Unfortunately, because of distance, we only seemed to see each other at family funerals. I have a few memories of her from when I was very young. I remember her as being rather soft spoken and very kind. All through the many years, we could always count on Aunt Shirley's and Bob's being the first Christmas card we would receive. I'm sure she will be missed, and fondly remembered, by all who knew and loved her.

Shirley and I worked together in the office at Garfield Elementary School for many years. We had fun working together on the good and bad days. Shirley was fond of rhubarb and I would take her some every spring. We would go to the retired school personnel lunch too and even out to lunch with other Garfield staff. She was so proud of her granddaughter, Jenny Blessings to Shirley's family. Heaven has gained another angel! George & Chris Gochenouer

Shirley was the Health Secretary at Garfield, and she also served as my secretary in my position of guidance counselor. She was always so kind and giving, and became my confidante in stressful situations. She was efficient and willing to tackle many tasks requested of her. Her pleasing personality was a comfort to all who worked with Shirley. We stayed in contact over the years, even after I moved on to other schools in the district, and my retirement. I will miss her warm, friendly, caring manner. God Bless, Shirley, and prayers to your family.

Ms. Hansen was the Front Desk Secretary at Garfield Elementary School. I was a student there for 5 years. She was such a wonderful and kind woman. I dont think she ever failed to smile when I saw her. She was always sweet and kind to us kids. Thank you for all you did for us kids at Garfield Elementary. Rest Eternal Ms. Hansen, you will never be forgotten. ??

Shirley was like a grandma to me having lived nextdoor to her my entire life. She was a loving and caring woman who always had a heartwarming hug and smile for me every time I saw her. She will he missed dearly.
