As I pull up this site to post a condolence, it makes my heart hurt. I automatically react, thinking NO, it is not possible. That can't be Linda there, but it is, and what a loss to so many of us that she is gone from us. I find some comfort in remembering all the years we shared from grade school on ...confidences, updates, walks on the beach, and calls to rally when we were down ... shared in person, on the phone, in emails and in our infamous round robin book (in which she DEPLORED being asked to write and send on as quickly as possible!) One thing remains true about your old friends, they know everything about you and still like you. What a blessing it has been to have had Linda as one of my nearest and dearest. I am missing you already, Linda! Love ......

Dear Chris, Craig, and the rest of your family,
I am truly saddened to hear that Linda passed away. I met her on Safari in Africa and we instantly connected on photography, the wildlife and our love for adventure. We had such a great time, that we decided to go back to Africa on another trip together, with your mother planning all the details and connecting me to her many friend along the way. We remained friends, though long distance, and I even had the opportunity to visit he and Mike in Florida.
I will remember her kindness and passion for animals and what fun she could be! I am blessed that I had the chance to spend time with her and to have had her friendship.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Chris and Craig , and Jon
Our sympathies to all of you. Linda was a wonderful friend of many years as we went to school together and have remained friends through all these years. She was a very strong woman and a steadfast friend. Know that she's on another adventure and has already picked up Safari and is on her way. Pray all the wonderful memories will help you through these difficult times.
Love and prayers to you all, Diane and Jim Seko

I got to know Linda when she joined our aerobics group shortly after she married Michael. I truly enjoyed her presence. She was vivacious in all her endeavors. My son Myron helped her edit and convert her movies that she shot on her first safari to Kenya to VHS format. She wanted a way to share with her friends and family. She gave him an opportunity to do what he loves and now is a digital artist. I will miss her birthday cards and Christmas letters.

I've known Linda since the day she came home from the hospital as a tiny baby to join our family. I was five years old and vividly remember how exciting it was to have a baby in the house. Our fathers were serving in World War II, in remote places of the world, defending our nation. Thus, my mother, my sister, and I, a well a Linda's mother (my aunt) and her new baby, were living with our grandparents in their home. After our fathers returned home, each family had their own place to live, but in the same neighborhood. We spent many happy times together playing on the swing set in our grandparents' back yard and trailing our grandfather as he tended to his chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and even a peacock. Our threesome became a foursome when Linda's younger brother was old enough to join us. Throughout the years Linda and I have always kept in touch even though we lived many miles apart. When our husbands were still living, we always tried to get together each year in Florida. We all enjoyed each other's company. My most memorable visit with Linda will always be my last visit to her home in Iowa in late September of this year. Due to failing health problems, we hadn't seen each other since 2009. It was such a joyous occasion to be together once again. We talked about everything that had transpired during the past 72 years. Little did we know that it would be our last time together. I'm so grateful we got in our last visit. May you rest in peace, Linda

Dear Chris and Craig,
Please accept our sympathy at this sad time. We were shocked to hear that you lost your beloved mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
We knew your mom for over 40 years and stayed in touch even after moving to AZ 20 years ago. Linda was a fantastic woman and an angel on earth to all animals as she will continue to be that angel in heaven.
With our deepest sympathy,

My heart is broken with the passing of Linda! I am proud to have called her my friend. I worked for her, and her 'babies' for 7 or so years at her home in FL, she was one of the most committed, strong, loyal women I have ever known! She taught me to be strong, but loving in this harsh world. And I am so proud that one last thing she was able to accomplish was moving off "that darn golf course!" But so saddened she wasn't able to make it back to enjoy, relax, and watch the wildlife from her new home. I will always carry Linda in my heart.

Bill and I were so sad to hear that we will not see Linda in Florida when we return this month. Bill will miss seeing Linda and the Babies on his morning walk which she did every single day. She was always so strong when she was going through the Medical Merrygoround. She was so good to our daughter Jody and her dog Max, a 85 pound Lab who wanted to play with her Babies. We knew Linda for about 8 years as our friend in Florida. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed in our community. So sad she did not get to enjoy her new home on the creek. Thoughts and prayers always for you Linda.

i was so looking forward to her coming to florida and she promised to share with me all the antics of Sahara and the rest of her crew. she was so committed to her animals and spoke often fondly of how wonderful her children were. i met with her twice but we had such a great connection. She was a brave woman and refused to let her cancer beat her down. I will miss her a lot.

What a wonderful woman. Pleasure was all mine meeting her on my trip to Kenya many years ago. A friendship began on the tundra. So sorry for the loss of a kind woman. May her memory be eternal.
