Marvin Gerjets, 83, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Funeral Services in honor of Marvin will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with Pastor Bunny Dillard officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Hopkinton City Cemetery.
Marvin was born on April 10, 1943, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Harry and Marie (Luck) Gerjets. He married Audrey Murphy in 1986, and together they shared many happy years filled with love, family, and companionship. Marvin dedicated more than 30 years of his career as a truck driver for Air Filter Sales and Service receiving an award for driving over 3 million accident-free miles. Following his retirement, he continued working with Hertz Car Rental. Marvin enjoyed camping with his camping club, spending time on the road, and never met a stranger, as he could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was a faithful member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Independent Order Of Foresters. Where he cherished the friendships and community he found there.
Marvin was preceded in death by parents and his 3 siblings Sharon, Bobby and Ed.
Left to cherish Marvin’s memory are his loving wife, Audrey; his children, Richard (Lynda) Gerjets, Lori Almaimani, and Nicole (Eric) Braden; and his grandchildren, Garrett (Courtney) Gerjets, Paige Gerjets, Mitchell Gerjets, Leyal Almaimani, Jasser Almaimani, and Mariam (Tristan Trunnel) Almaimani. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Taryn, Kane, Ronin, and Levi. Also left to honor his memory is his cousin, Don (Sue) Ruley.
