My condolences to the family on Darlene's passing. When I worked at Summit Pointe a few years back as an activity assistant, Darlene was one of the entertainers that would play for Happy Hour on Friday afternoons probably on a bi-monthly basis. Her talent was adored by all the staff and tenants who came to watch her play. It was an honor to host her and her music and charm will be missed. The crowd favorite she'd always play was the Beer Barrel Polka.

I so enjoyed visiting with Darlene at MethWick and running into her at the Wilson Ave HyVee. She was always ready with kind words and her beautiful smile. My sympathies -

Darlene was my aunt, so we've known her many, many years. Always smiling, (or shaking her head at many of Leon's jokes), she always kept things upbeat, whether it was Christmas and Grandma and Grandpa's or just stopping by unexpectedly to say hello. She was just one of those people that you enjoyed being around. So many great memories of her and Leon. Our sincere condolences to Cindy and the entire Schlitter family.

I knew Darlene through my mom’s cousins, Vernon and Lois. She told me of her love of the accordion, and kindly offered to accept one that mom could no longer use. I had the privilege of hearing her play, and her joy in playing was obvious. She was a lovely woman whom I was glad to have met. My sincerest sympathy on your loss.
