Patricia “Pat” Jayne Reid, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Emery Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in Robins, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the chapel. Private family burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pat was born on July 28, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Harriett (Copp) Denny. She graduated from Springville High School and was united in marriage to George L. Reid on April 14, 1962, in Springville. Pat worked as an inspector and machine operator and was a valued employee at Rockwell Collins from 1968 until her retirement in 2009, completing 41 years of dedicated service.
Pat enjoyed visiting the Presidential Libraries, exploring genealogy, studying history, stamping, taking photos, going to theater events, and attending any event that included fireworks. She was an avid fan of Iowa Women’s Basketball—Go Hawks! Above all, Pat’s greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. Her joyful spirit shone through in everything she did, especially when she discovered a great bargain at a garage sale. Her light-hearted humor, warm smile, and generous heart made every moment spent with her feel special.
Pat is survived by her children, William (Lisa) Reid of Central City, IA; Janice Noke of Alburnett, IA; David Reid of Fairfax, IA; and Coni (Steve) Schaul of Robins, IA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sondra (Nick) Winter, Nick Reid, Sara Reid, Jenifer Emerson, Joshua Emerson, and Jacob Schaul; and two great-granddaughters, Avery and Ryan Winter. Pat is survived by two brothers, Dennis Denny of Springville, IA, and R. Neal (Laura) Denny of Marion, IA; and her sister, Rae (Peter) Jacobs of Robins, IA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Lazenby of Marion, IA; her long-time friend and neighbor, Ann Ollinger; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, George L. Reid, and her daughter, Caryol Reid.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Care Initiatives Hospice and the staff at Emery Place for the gentle care and compassion they provided to Pat.
