Raymond Loney

Ray was my first construction boss as I was looking for experience while attending Kirkwood for Construction Management. I’ll never forget him. The man was the toughest guy I knew. He just had that look that you shouldn’t piss him off. He would take break on a roof with zero shade when it was over 100 degrees outside while drinking strong coffee and smoking a non filtered cig. He would then put the cig out in his coffee, finish drinking it then hop on his feet and get everyone back to work. He also sent me home for being late to work then explain to me the next day that the kid that showed up everyday on time was making $5 extra per hour that summer. I tell my apprentices this story all the time. I’ve learned so much from him in just one summer that I utilize to this day. He was genuine and a great boss. He will be missed and my prayers are with the family.

My heart is so heavy hearing this news. Raymond was one of the good ones. Him and dad were such great friends. May he rest in peace. My heart goes out to you 2 boys. Love Ronnee
