What a legacy she left - an amazing life. If I may share a little levity... My mom was Nancy McHugh and we lived in the neighborhood. I remember the Bush years when he was in CR at their home and Secret Service agents were swarming the neighborhood. Mom and someone else (wish I could remember - Roby?) donned trench coats, sunglasses, earbuds, and black gloves, thinking they looked like Secret Service agents! They walked around Forest Drive and Linden pretending they were listening and talking like agents. They thought they were pretty funny - I'm sure wine was involved. Sally was a force.

To all of Sally's family, Although I did not know Sally personally, I always heard such wonderful things about her and Richard from my former mother-in-law, Barbara Ohlfest. Barb worked in the office at Nameplate for many years. I remember so clearly when Barb told me that Sally was going to Malta. A fond memory for me. Although Barb has been gone since '96, she had such great love and respect for Sally and Richard. I know she is guiding me in extending our sincerest sympathies to all of you, from the Ohlfest family.

To Sara, Beth, Chip, Andrew, and your families: Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of your mother and prepare to celebrate her life of unbelievable accomplishments. Wow! Your mother walked the walk and talked the talk as a public servant and a Republican Party stalwart, all the while providing love and support to her family and friends. You must be so proud of her legacy. Prayers, love and peace to you all during this difficult time.

Sad news. Sally set me up in some great political events, presidential motorcades, conventions, fundraisers, and many more activities. She was an amazing woman.

So awfully sad to hear of her passing. I very fondly remember her, she was a very beautiful woman in many ways. What a full life she lived. My heart goes out to the entire family. Sad stuff this.

Please accept our warmest thoughts and deepest sympathies from us to your family. May you all find peace in this difficult time.

My condolences to Sally's entire family and dear friends. As her neighbor for several years, fellow widow and "witch", I know that Sally's greatest joy was being a mother. She will be missed but her accomplishments and relationships will be remembered by all of us.

My deepest sympathy to Sally's family. Rest in Peace Sally. Michele Sweeney
