Cedar Rapids, IA – Raymond Henry Krug, 93, passed away peacefully at the English Valley Care Center.

A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Ray was born on May 5, 1932, to Arthur and Loretta (Housman) Krug on a farm near Atkins, Iowa. He attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids.

Ray proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for four years.

He was employed by the City of Cedar Rapids as a Real Estate Supervisor, a position he held for 24 years until his retirement. Ray dedicated himself to volunteer work, spending 24 years volunteering at the Olivet Clothing Mission and 12 years at the Cedar House Homeless Shelter. He enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his three daughters, Reva Svoboda, Rita McCord, and Rebecca Egli; and his sister Evelyn. Caretakers John and Delores Tibben.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Vera Krug and Arlene Krug.

Private family Funeral service for Ray will be held at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Covington, Iowa.
