Eldeen Jane Lenth, 86, of Cedar Rapids, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024.  A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024,  at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.  A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Rev. Craig Brown from First Lutheran Church where Eldeen and Richard were members for years.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A light lunch will be served after the service in the Family Center at Cedar Memorial.

Eldeen was born on August 13, 1937, in Waukon, Iowa.  She was the youngest daughter born to  Edgar and Mildred (Larson) Vangen. Her family moved to Cedar Rapids where she grew up and graduated from McKinley High School.  She married Richard Lenth on November 21, 1964, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.  Together they were blessed with four children who they raised with wonderful friends and neighbors in Bowman Woods.  Eldeen worked in banking for over 26 years while also enjoying volunteering at her childrens' schools, church activities, and neighborhood get togethers such as Bridge groups and block parties.  She always looked forward to being together as a family to go bowling, play an intense game of Train Dominoes, or cheering on our Cyclones as well as the Hawkeyes and Panthers.  She was spunky, always up to try new things with her kids and grandkids, and funnier than she realized.  People always noticed and loved her smile.

Eldeen was preceded in death by her parents as well as siblings Bernice Gemilere, Ethel Ilten, Roy Vangen and two others who died in infancy.  Left to cherish her memory include her husband Richard, daughters Deanne (Kent) Gummert and Debbie Lenth, sons Barry Lenth and Bruce (Angie) Lenth along with her grandchildren Jack Gummert, Zoey Lenth, and Kye Lenth.  She absolutely adored them!  Her surviving siblings are Eileen Baird and Roland Vangen.
