Andrew Shawn Wright, 33, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Visitation: 5-7 PM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Andrew was born on February 10, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Donald Raye King and Betty Wright. After graduating from high school, he attended Kirkwood Community College. In his spare time, Andrew liked to read, watch movies, and go out to eat. He enjoyed hot sauce. He liked spending time with his nephew and hanging out with his mom and sister.
Survivors include his mother Betty Wright of Cedar Rapids; father Donald Raye King of Davenport; sister Adrianne Wright of Cedar Rapids; grandmother Minnie Wright of Cedar Rapids; nephew Kahlil Gamble of Cedar Rapids; special friend Andre Dawson of Cedar Rapids; uncles Wilbert Page and Robert Wright both of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law Jeffrey Kaess of Chicago, IL; and special cousins Michael Page and Demetrius Wright. Andrew is also survived by a host of other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death was his grandmother Margaret King and uncles Lionel Page and Earl King.
