My beloved Bette, I am in deep sorrow to know that I cannot see you anymore in this world. It has been 55 years since I met you first time at the bus station in Cedar Rapids. Thanks for everything you have done for me and Young Sang and our children throughout those years. We learned from you so many things in our lives. Tom and you were our American parents, teachers and montors. You taught us unconditional and genuine love, ceaseless consideration and warm care, unlimited generacity, diligence, trust, service for others and many more. You showed us how to put Bible into practice by living. That's why I became a Christian, and all our family followed. We will keep cherishing these legacies you left with us. I have shared so many stories with you that I could write a book. You are the most beautiful and wondwrful woman I have ever met. You will be always in my heart and thought. I do love you so much! I strongly believe that I will meet you in heaven somday. May wish you peace and rest in Jesus Christ, our Lord. With my whole-hearted love, Your Korean daughter, Kyungsook

Dear Bette, I have always been proud of calling you and Tom my grandparents ever since I was born. Your unwavering care and support for my family (referred to as "the Choi family" in the memorial) have been a cherished constant since the 1960s. You are the reason why Cedar Rapids feels like my American home, and I am eternally grateful for that. I am so fortunate to have had the privilege of staying with you during my years at Coe College. Bette, you have the sweetest heart in the whole world, taking care of even a foreign family like us with a love and dedication that I can only aspire to emulate. The lessons you taught me made me a better person, and have stayed with me all these years. You are an integral part of our family's growth in the United States, and that is something that will never change. We love you deeply and hold onto the hope of reuniting with you and Tom in heaven someday. With my biggest love, Your grandson, Jinho

Bette was such a joy to care for. She was such a sweet lady and she will definitely be missed.
