Memorial
Karen O. Moubry, 88, a resident of the Meth-Wick Community, died Saturday September 17, 2022, at the Woodlands. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 8, 2022, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, honoring both Karen and husband Bob. A Rosary will begin the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment: Private at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Karen was born December 16, 1933, in New York City to Harold Kelly and Olga Pokorney Kelly. The family moved to Belle Plaine, Iowa, when Karen was very young, and she thoroughly enjoyed growing up there surrounded by her many friends.
Karen married Robert (Bob) Moubry on April 23, 1955, in Belle Plaine. Together they raised their family and ran their business, B and B Auctions in Marion, Evergreen, Colorado and finally Phoenix, Arizona. They enjoyed traveling in Europe and were always ready for the next adventure.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Mark, and her beloved husband of 67 years, Bob, who died on March 22, 0f 2022.
She is survived by her sons, Brad Moubry of Flagstaff, Arizona, Jeffrey Moubry of Phoenix, Arizona; a niece, Trina Heath of Cedar Rapids and close friend and care giver, Duane Hepker of Cedar Rapids. Daughters of the heart include Amy Heying, Barbara Teahen, Carrie Siewert, Cher Stephenson and Kerry Weaver.
Karen will be remembered for always saying what she felt and meaning what she said. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar rapids. Special thanks to the staff of the Meth-Wick Community for their support of Bob and Karen.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
