Dearest Bette, Roger and I are so sad and extend our deepest sympathies to you and all of your family. Rich was a wonderful man and I will miss his dry sense of humor and quiet ways, especially at the bridge table.

I was so sorry to hear of Rich’s passing. My heart goes out to Bette and all his family. Thanks, Rich, for kindly and graciously sharing Bette with the St. Pius community for many years. I loved any connection with you.

Rich was a gentle man who commanded attention when he spoke — always quietly and with grace and wisdom. We enjoyed knowing him and send sympathy to the family. Rich was a believer — rejoice!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Rich. He was a true Patriarch and quiet example to all those around him. I was very blessed to have Rich and the entire Niccolls family in my life throughout my childhood, and my heart goes out to them at this very difficult time. Please know that the entire family will be in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.

To Bette, Jamie, and the whole Niccolls family - We were so saddened to hear of Richard's passing. We will keep him and your entire family in our thoughts and prayers. Chris, Sherry and Jon

My deepest condolences to the Niccolls family and my heartfelt prayers for the repose of the soul of Richard. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in Peace.

I’m so sorry hear about Rich passing. I have known the Niccolls family for a very long time and have great memories of family Christmas gatherings etc. What a wonderful family and we were all blessed to have Rich in our lives, he will be greatly missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to the Niccolls family.

I met Rich when I joined Square D in 1980. Rich was one of these highly competent scientists Square D had the wisdom to attract and retain. Beyond being knowledgeable, Rich was an enjoyable colleague with whom to work and human being with whom to be. It has been my distinct privilege to know him. To this day, thinking of Rich puts a smile on my face and always will.

We have been long time friends of Rich and Bette and the whole Niccolls family We cannot remember not having Rich in our life, if only a phone call or a quick visit....He played a major role in Genes campaign for Linn Country Attorney....plus the endless celebrations in each others home throughout the years. Recently had a wonderful conversation with Rich and can only imagine his pure joy of being in Heaven at Christmas ..seeing all his family....his siblings..his parents..his children.....and how he will always be on the other side helping all of us that need his wisdom...he spoke softly and his words will be alway remembered ...even a simple comment is engrained in our memory....RIP dear friend and blessings to the family he adored.

Rich was a treasured member of First Presbyterian Church and we will remember him with fondness.
