D’Andre Shawn Hicks, 28, went on his eternal journey Saturday, June 29, 2019.
A home going service celebrating D’Andre’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Pastor Johnnie Redmond officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.
D’Andre Shawn Hicks was born 12/10/1990 to Deon & Dionna in Chicago, IL. D’Andre was a father to two children whom he loved dearly, his daughter A’Breana & his son DeMarcus.
D’Andre was a colorful, happy young man who loved setting trends and standing out. He was family oriented and always had a smile on his face. He encouraged, inspired and motivated anyone he came in contact with. At any time if you needed him he did his best to help you in whatever way he could. He was also the “life of the party”, he liked to have fun, he loved to laugh and he really enjoyed rapping and free-styling. One of his favorite things to say is “Ya fi me”. D’Andre has lived in various states such as Illinois, Iowa, Florida and Minnesota and has obtained lots of friends whom he cherished. He was active in playing basketball and you could find him most of the time playing his video game. His skill was in roofing and flooring. His desire and short term goal was to invest in real estate.
He was preceded in death by his son D’Mareon, his brother DeMarcus, his cousin Antonio, Grandmother Clara & Grandfather Melvin.
He is survived by both parents Deon (Jennifer) & Dionna (Anthony), his two children DeMarcus & A’Breana (Brea), his grandparents Gwen & L.C., his brother’s Deon Jr. & Anthony, his sister Drionna, his step brother’s Dimitrius, Steven, Derez, Ishmeal, his step sister’s Jazzie & Jasmin, his favorite cousin’s Lashawn “Reese”, Kionna & Leondre, his best friend for over 20 years Maxwell “Money”, his special friend Maria Furlong and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
