Condolences to Lanetta's family and friends. Lanetta's name was included at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in the Memorial prayers for families and friends at our 9:30 AM service.
I had the pleasure of calling on Lanetta several times and was so very impressed. Through all of the health issues she was very positive and happy. She was rightfully proud of her family and her work with the young girls in Camp Fire. She spoke so fondly of her husband. It must have been a great love.
Sorry for the loss.

I am retired, living in rural Puebla, Mexico. A Cedar Rapids friend sends me relevant obituaries. He sent me this obituary, since it said she was a member of Mensa. He knew I was editor of the local Mensa newsletter for several years around 1980. I kept copies of the newsletter, and in March 1980 she was listed as living in Cedar Rapids, one of 16 local members. I do not remember meeting her, but my wife thinks we did once. Now, we will never know, I guess. Not all members go to meetings for many reasons. I am sure the loss was mine. Please accept condolences from a former fellow Mensa member.
