Gloria Vivian Klinger, 91, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. 

Gloria was born on February 28, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of Vance and Lelia (Shaner) Coleman. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Coe College. On November 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee “Bob” Klinger in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a member of the of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids and PEO (KG Chapter). Gloria was a loving, caring, and dependable wife, mother, and friend. She and Bob loved going to Colorado and visiting Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, caring for their 2 homes in Estes Park, hiking and looking for animals, and playing miniature golf. They made several friends over the many years they spent in Estes Park. They also loved attending Iowa Women’s Basketball games with friends, and they always sat right behind the basket. She also enjoyed going to Cedar Rapids Kernels games. Gloria especially loved her dog, Pooka. 

Survivors include her sons, Doug (Kathy) Klinger of Cedar Rapids and Rick (Anne) Klinger of Dunkerton; brothers, Van (Millie) Coleman of St. Paul, MN and Kenneth (Mary Sue) Coleman of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Katie (Nathan) Schwarz, Macie (Keegan) Fischer, Marissa (Jose) Escoriza, Holly (Jon) McLin, Bailey Klinger (Drew), and Barrett (Kiley) Scorpil; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bob in 2009; and daughter, Suzanne Jones. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or Linn County Humane Society.
