Dear Jerde Family, So Sorry to hear of Kays Passing, She almost made it to 100 as the women in the family have all come close, I remember her taking car of her mother in law, and I remember her mother, all Lovely ladies, I have held her in my prayers this year, and did not hear of this event until today, I know she was in a wheelchair and life was not easy, I remember how she enjoyed a cigarette at the diningroom table after a meal, and made Great angel pie, and her warm smile, Again Sorry for your loss, My Mother Jean Loved Kay very much and she left us just over 6 years ago now at 91. We were all close in our days of youth and the loss of Ray especially was a difficult time, for your mother and family and so be at Peace knowing you are in my prayers and she is at rest now, the good and faithful servant she was in her time on earth.

Mary and family, I so very sorry for the loss of your sweet mother. I remember having slumber parties at your house as little girls and how kind and welcoming she was. Keeping you in my prayers.

Mary, Kathy and Jerde family I am heartbroken to hear of your mom's passing. My mother in law, Martha also died Friday at Winslow House. I loved visiting with you and your mom. Her act of kindness to me decades ago lives warmly in my memories.

Dear Family -I was very sad to learn of Kay's passing. Knowing her was not just a family connection - she was my very dear friend. I first knew her when I was in 8th grade and she was about to graduate from high school. She was the last living person to go back that far in my history. I will greatly miss her; she was always cheerful when I called, despite her severe visual loss. I was always impressed with her strength in all circumstances of life and her considerate kindness. My parents dearly loved her also. She kept me informed about her family & I would like to keep in touch as I have cherished memories of you all. I tried to call her twice during her last week and surmised she was not well. May the Lord comfort your hearts as you walk through the valley of grief. Much as she is missed, she was a devout woman of faith and it is a comfort to know she is now healed and joyful in the presence of our Lord, I will appreciate any new contact info. over above e-mail (when you are able) as I truly want to keep in touch with you all. With much love and continued prayers for you all. Lois.

Kay’s sister in law, Lois Jerde Douglas, informed me about Kay’s passing. Through the years Lois called Kay many times. I surprised Kay with a visit on one of our trips. Kay was such a pleasant cheerful lady and so talented. Cherish your memories! Marian Gates, Grand Forks, ND

Dear Jerde Family, I wish I could be with you to celebrate the life of Kay. She has engendered so much love. I learned important life lessons from the Jerde family, guided by Kay, as did my brother Mike: making friends and keeping and caring for them, humor, soft-spoken firmness, faithfulness, optimism, persistence, undying love. Beth, Paul, Mary, and Kathy, I have known each of you in different ways over the years. My heart is with you in many loving memories of Kay that I will treasure forever. With deepest sympathy, Carol

Kathy, So many memories from St Matt's and Regis..Your mom was such a joy..one of my oncology patients gave me a caring quote " a sunset on earth is a sunrise in heaven" I see you live in a beautiful part of Michigan that we visit, as my husband has extended family in the Upper Peninsula. Take care.

Mary and Family, So sorry for your loss. I remember Mrs Jerde very well from high school. I really loved her. She was always very nice to me when I visited you Mary at your home. God Bless the Jerde family. Yvonne
