Lauren Orval Wolcott
Born in Reliance, South Dakota to Orville and Mae Wolcott on March 17, 1933. He passed to Glory with The Lord March 14, 2025. He helped his family on the farm until age 12 when his parents moved to a mission in Houston, Kentucky for 2 years. Next, they moved to work at Pilgrim Tract Society in Randleman, North Carolina. After 3 years his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he graduated high school. Lauren attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and was a part of the “Jump in the Bucket Team.” He graduated in 1955, then earned a second degree at University of Pittsburgh in 1957. He worked at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft until his work on a missile program ended in 1974. Lauren next began to work at Rockwell-Collins until he retired in 1994. During his career, Lauren obtained his pilot’s license.
He married Sandra Hemphill in 1967. He was a Deacon, then an Elder in the Reformed Presbyterian Church until 1992. He and Sandra are members of the Washington, Iowa R.P.C. and also attended Grace Brethren Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 9 to 11 AM on Friday March 21st. There will also be services at a later date in Chamberlin, South Dakota with burial at the Reliance Cemetery in Reliance, South Dakota.
