Memorial

Jerry E Fehlhafer, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at his home.  Services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Chapel. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Survivors include; daughter, Julie (William) Brouwer of Marshalltown, son, Jeff Fehlhafer (Susan Moore) of Cedar Rapids, seven grandchildren, Laura (Andy) Dosh, Ben Brouwer, Sarah (Matt) Espy, Daniel (Emma) Brouwer, Jenn (Andy) Turner, Jason Fehlhafer, and Marisa Fehlhafer; eight great grandchildren, Talia, Malachi, Norah, Collin, Miles, Thomas, Jameson and Evander. A brother, Ronald Fehlhafer, of Marion 

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, parents, sisters, Lina Flender and Doris Sievers.

Jerry was born May 26, 1935, in Farmersburg, Iowa to Verni and LaVern Fehlhafer.  Jerry graduated from Springville High School in 1953.  He married Joyce Trpkosh on November 28, 1954 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion.  Jerry worked as an Iowa State Trooper for 31 years, first in Sac City then Cedar Rapids.  After retiring from the Patrol, he worked as a bailiff at the Federal Courthouse in Cedar Rapids.  He was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Cedar Rapids.  Joyce and Jerry enjoyed traveling, especially frequent trips to Branson, Missouri.  He enjoyed feeding the birds, turkeys and deer outside his residence.                        

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
