Ronald Eugene Stinson, 65, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital at 5:14 a.m.
Ronald was born on December 19, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of John Eugene and Mary Lyn Stinson and one of three children. He attended Burlington High School before joining the United States Marine Corps where he served four years from 1976-1980. On December 23, 1983, he married Louise Lewis at Union Baptist Church in Burlington, Iowa. He moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, and attended Lee College and worked for Duracell. He moved back to Iowa and worked for IBP in Columbus Junction, Walmart warehouse in Mt. Pleasant and several nursing homes in Burlington and Cedar Rapids.
Ronald enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his favorite hobbies were fishing, yard work and small engine repair. Ronald never met a stranger, and he never ceased to share his admiration for Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Lyn Stinson of Burlington, Iowa; wife, Louise Stinson of Cedar Rapids; sons, Maurice Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Cameron (Mariah) Stinson of Marion, Iowa, Savion Lewis of Spring Valley, Illinois, Marquell Lewis of North Liberty; daughters, Shemeca Stinson, Sade Stinson, Mariah Stinson, Jamira Lewis, all of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Vicki Bennett of Bear, Delaware, Monica Stinson of San Jose, California, Rebecca (Calvin) Fermon of Oakland, California; brother, Jay Chris Stinson of Ft. Madison, Iowa; grandchildren, Jaiden M. Townsend, Nolan Lewis, Cameron D. Stinson, Jr., Isley L. Stinson, Mark P. Brewer; great grandchildren, Messiah Lewis and Travis Lewis. Not dismissing anyone, he had a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and one sister.
