I had the pleasure of working with Anita at Grant Wood Elementary. She always brightened up the cafeteria with her smile, laughter, and kind words. When I brought her a meal during her first round of chemotherapy she gifted me an angel. On the day I heard the news of her passing, I unpacked my Valentine's box to decorate my home and the first thing I pulled out of the box was Anita's angel. I truly believe it was a sign from above. I am holding the entire family of Anita's close to my heart during this difficult time.

I knew Anita through pool. She was always smiling & happy. She was an awesome & very kind lady. So much positivity always. She will be truly missed by many. RIP. Prayers to her family getting through this hard time & take comfort in knowing she is no longer in any pain❤️

So very sorry Anita has passed. Can not imagine how her family will miss her. What a lovely lady with the best laughter we will remember. To her family we pray for comfort.

I’m so saddened by the loss of Anita! She was such a caring and loving lady. I got the chance to meet her at Collins for several years. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Anita’s family. I didn’t know her all that well but she had asked me to fill in at a state tournament and even though I normally didn’t go, I did because she was so nice and tomorrow me to just have fun! I remember her at a women’s tournament that we have annually, she was the happy go lucky one that danced and sang with the TouchTunes! I thought” she is enjoying her best life” and for the rest of her life, I understand she did just that! She is not suffering any longer and loved her life and did live it to the fullest! I am glad to have met her. Such a kind and meaningful lady she was! May she rest in heavenly peace. Sincerely, Jessica Bruening
