Chris L. Andersen 91, of Central City passed away December 21, 2024. A Visitation will be held from 12-1 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. 

Chris was born on May 31, 1933, in York, Nebraska, the son of Christian and Hattie (Hansen) Williamsen. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Chris was united in marriage to Kay Overton on October 27, 1956, in Trenton, MO. Chris started his career with the Rock Island Railroad in 1959, working there until 1974. His career continued with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, working there from 1974 until his retirement in 1993. In his free time, he liked fishing. Chris also enjoyed the outdoors and traveling across the U.S. and Hawaii. He always looked forward to summer vacations with the family.  Chris had an unwavering faith in God that sustained him throughout his life.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Kay of Central City; children, Jeff (Shirley) Andersen of Cedar Rapids, Karla (Larry) McGinty of Cedar Rapids; and Alex (Serena) Andersen of Orr, MN; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and sisters, Rose Meng of Texas and Lucille Barton of Nebraska.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a great grandson, Gabriel Andersen in infancy; sisters, Gerri, Thelma, Betsy, and Doris; and a brother, Edward in infancy.
