Memorial
Mickey Ray Neal, 82, of Marion passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
Mick was born September 27, 1941, to Roy and Effie (Reed) Neal in Weldon, Iowa. After he graduated from high school he enlisted into the U.S. Airforce. He married Sharlene Haney on October 13, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, and together they had three children. He worked 20 years at LeFebure and later retired from Schneider Electric. He enjoyed traveling, working on small engines, walking his dog Charlee, and helping people. Mick’s biggest joy was his wife and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Sharlene Neal; daughters, Kathy Neal, and Sandra (Jim) Nichting; Daughter in law, Wendy Neal; grandchildren; Nick (Lindsay) Neal, Eric (Cadey) Nichting, Kyle (Keli) Nichting, Justin Nichting, Jordan (Erin) Nichting, Jessica (Nick) Wilson, Gunnar Neal, and Jennifer Neal; great grandchildren, Breeze, Lexus, Chance, Lily, Rylee, Zailey, Briar, Rainey, Mackenzie, Tyler, Evelyn, and Zeno.
Mick is preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael, and a great grandson Kinnick Neal.
