Memorial
Ronald M. Cowger, Sr., 92, passed away September 7, 2023, at home. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 11 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Ronald was born June 13, 1931, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Harry and Alice Cowger. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for 31 years at Iowa Steel and another ten years at Colonial Bakery before retiring in 1991.
Ronald is lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Wanda; children, Charlene (David) Jaeger, Ronald, Jr. (Valerie), Carla (Steve) Wimer, Kathi/Anna (Stan) Applegate; grandchildren, Jacob (Kimberly), David (Marsha), Colt (Jen), Dustin, Branson, James, Alex, and Elise; six great grandchildren and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Lee and Donald Wayne; parents; siblings, Harry Cowger, Wayne Edgington and Carol Edgington.
